Cleaning baseboards is one of my least favorite tasks. There are so many planes, creases, and tiny ledges where dirt, dust, and pet fur settle and seem to stick. However, clean baseboards make my home feel tidier. There’s nothing like a good baseboard cleaning session to create that spotlessly clean effect you can’t quite put your finger on.

Vacuum
Dust and debris can be removed from the baseboards' surface using your vacuum's brush attachment. Make sure you clean the space between the baseboard's bottom and the floor. Lacking a hoover? Make use of a tiny whisk broom.
Wipe
You can now clean the stains and grime that have adhered to the surface once the dust has been removed. Because they collect food and grease splatters, baseboards in the kitchen become especially unclean. Because your family brings dirt in from the outside, mudroom baseboards also accumulate a lot of filth. Combine vinegar, liquid dish soap, and warm water in a bucket. Scratches and stains can be removed by dipping a sponge or soft cloth into the liquid. For scrubbing stubborn dirt, a melamine sponge is a suitable option. Clean the Crannies
Clean the baseboards' tops and the space between their bottoms and the floor using a cotton swab dipped in the cleaning solution.
Protect
Use a dryer sheet to rub your freshly cleaned baseboards to keep them dirt-free for as long as possible. A dryer sheet, indeed. By doing this, dust-attracting static is avoided.

Some filler, sandpaper, and paint will get the job done for most DIYers.
