What is Clash Royale?
Clash Royale, a Supercell game, was launched in June 2012, almost four years ago. Clash, along with Boom Beach, Supercell’s hit title, has been a dominant player in the mid-core games category on touchscreen devices for almost four years.
Supercell has published Clash Royale, a free-to-play real-time strategy game. It combines elements of tower defence, collectible card games and multiplayer online battle areas. The game was launched worldwide on March 2, 2016. It made $1 billion in revenue within a year of its debut on the market. According to Sensor Tower, And it has made $2.5 billion in revenues over three years. This is the first spinoff of Clash of Clans.
The interface of Clash Royale
Clash Royale, a tower-rush video game, puts players in two or four-player games (1v1 or 2-v2) where the goal is to destroy as many towers as possible. The “King’s Tower”, which is an instant win, is the target. The match will continue for two minutes if both players/teams have equal crowns or none. The player who destroys the opposing tower immediately wins. If overtime is not completed, there will be a tiebreaker. All towers quickly lose their health, and those with the lowest health will be destroyed. There is a draw if two towers have equal health.
Clash Royale ranks players based on their total number of trophies. Players can upgrade their cards and donate to earn Experience points. King Tower levels can reach level 14, while player levels can reach level 50. These levels are important for competitive match-making.
Multiplayer battles are the best way to win or lose trophies. If both players destroy the King’s Tower simultaneously, a player wins a battle.
There are 21 arenas to play in (excluding the Training Camp tutorial zone). Each arena corresponds with a specific trophy range.
The Legendary Arena was the last arena after Serenity Peak. It consisted of “Leagues” who were added to the game on March 2017. The League system allows players to play in nine leagues with more than 5000 trophies, ranging from Challenger I to Ultimate Champion. The player gets half the trophies they have won above 5000. This reset system was removed in the October 2022 update. Instead, there is a longer trophy road that includes more arenas and a competitive gameplay mode that follows a similar pattern to the Legendary Arena.
Clash Royale follows Supercell’s simple winning formula.
- First, create a game that is both familiar and new. Royale is a mixture of Clash Royale, Hearthstone and the original Clash of Clans. The lanes do not have anything to do with MOBAs, but they serve as simplifications of battle AI.
- Second, keep the feature list simple. Many companies focus on “feature parity” when launching games.
- This is a mistake, as you can only build great end-game features once you have data about player behaviour.
- The final and third step is to focus on polish. A well-balanced economy, attractive graphics, and a lack of bugs create a sense of quality.
Developers around the world downloaded this theme when it was soft-launched in Canada. They felt immense joy and excitement playing the game. We quickly felt sadness as we realized that Supercell had just changed the rules. Royale, the fourth Supercell title in succession, will be the game that captures the market and makes all the other game-makers look like novices.

Clan Wars I
Clan Wars were created on April 25, 2018 in Clash Royale. Initially, a war would be divided into “Collection Day” and “War Day”. Collection Day was when players battled in various game modes that would change every month. The Clan collection was enhanced by the award of cards for winning. A Clan can progress to War Day if it has at least ten members who play one battle each. The Clan will be matched up with four Clans with similar numbers of participants and Clan Trophies. Each participant would create a battle deck from the cards they had yet to collect on Collection Day. Each Clan was ranked according to the number of Crowns won. All participants received a War Bounty with Gold or other items at the end of the War Day. Depending on their war rank, clans could gain or lose a certain amount of Trophies. Clan Leagues were where Clan Trophies could be earned. Higher leagues offered better rewards. Clan Seasons were two weeks long, and each participant received a chest at the end of each season based on their highest war rank and the league they had reached during that season.
Clan Wars II
Clan Wars II, a revised version of Clan Wars I, was added on August 31, 2020. Each week comprises three “Training Days” and four “Battle Days.” Participants can add troops to Clan Boats during Training Days. This marks the progress of the week’s War and gives movement bonuses based on the number of surviving troops. Battles are fought using 32 cards from each player’s collection. These cards can be used to create four unique war decks that have no overlap. These Training Days allow for the Play of war decks, but enemy boats cannot be attacked until Battle Days. There are many battle options available on Battle Days. Medals will be awarded depending on participation and wins. Clan Trophies, similar to the original Clan Wars, are awarded for the Clan’s place in the War. This is determined by the Clan Boat that makes it the furthest along the River Race. The cycle will end after a week and reset to Training Days. Each total War lasts five weeks. Clans in clash Royale can either lose or gain trophies, depending on their week. The fifth week sees the Clan’s boat stop at the Colosseum for the final round of battles before a new cycle against rival Clans begins.
